They honor your license, and you can work while you wait

Reciprocity is written into Delaware law. A current license in good standing plus a passed national exam makes you eligible, with no years-in-practice rule. It's cheap at $210, and it's the only state here that lets you work, supervised, while your application is reviewed.

First year: $330-$370Renewal: every 2 yrs, told at renewalWait: next monthly meetingWork while waiting: Yes, $40 supervised tempTravel required: None

Watch out in Delaware

  • The 36-hour CE paperwork surprises nearly every experienced applicant.
  • A file completed in late June waits 6 weeks or more, since the board skips July and December.
  • Delaware's regulation and its website disagree about which year licenses expire. We've flagged it to confirm with the state.

After you are licensed

  • Renew every 2 years through DELPROS.
  • 24 CE hours per cycle. National RACE courses count.
  • No telehealth into Delaware without the license.
